Assam governor Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha was Monday sworn in as acting governor of West Bengal to hold office during the absence of governor Viren J Shah, who is on vacation.
Sinha was administered the oath of office by the chief justice of Calcutta high court Ashok Kumar Mathur at a brief ceremony at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata
Shah, who has gone on a holiday abroad, would resume his gubernatorial duties from November 27, Raj Bhavan sources said.
