Bangalore, Jan 01: Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna today dropped hints that he might go in for restructuring of his three-year-old ministry to "sharpen the governance to meet people's aspirations". "The people will guage a government how fast and meaningfully it works. The ministry reconstitution is a continuous exercise" he said declaring that initiatives to fine tune the administration will begin shortly. In a chat with reporters here, Krishna, when specifically asked whether he was signaling that the ministry restructuring exericse is on the cards, evaded a direct response saying, "I don't hold the crystal ball. Your guess is as well as mine". However, he quickly added "very soon a new PCC president will be appointed to the state congress unit. The time is ripe for this, I feel".

AICC general secretary Vayalar Ravi, in charge of Karnataka affairs, has already announced that a new PCC president to replace the present incumbent, Allum Veerabhadrappa would be appointed by second week of this month.
Krishna said he would also take up review of performance of various departments, but refused to brand the exercise as an "examination or test" to assess the capabilities of any minister. He said all his ministerial colleagues were capable of delivering goods.

Krishna said the days ahead were tough and there could be no soft options for the government warranting tough decisions.
