Lucknow, Jan 19: A PIL has been filed today in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court challenging the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led government's decision to disband nine district and four commissionaries. The two-member bench comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice Devi Prasad Singh will hear the petition on January 22.

Moving the PIL, Dinesh Chaudhry of Ambedkar Nagar pleaded that the decision to disband districts and commissionaries was illegal.
The Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had ordered disbanding of nine districts, including Ambedkar Nagar, Srawasti, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Mahamaya Nagar, Auriya, Chamdauli, Gautam Budhhnagar and Kaushambi, on January 13.

Four disbanded commissionaries are Basti, Mirzapur, Devi Patan and Saharanpur.
