Bhubaneswar, Jun 02: Orissa assembly today adjourned the proceedings of its brief two-day session till tomorrow after condoling the death of a sitting member, Baishnab Pradhan. The House also condoled the passing away of former minister of state, Chhotray Majhi and two former members Loknath Choudhury and Darapu Lachana Naidu. The members also condoled the death of three defence personnel from Orissa who fell victim to militant attacks elsewhere recently.

Glowing tributes were paid by the members to the memory of Pradhan, the sitting BJD member from Birmaharajpur in a road accident near Angul, recently.

After obituary references were made by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, tributes were paid to the departed souls by the leader of the opposition, Ramakanta Mishra, former chief minister Hemananda Biswal, revenue minister Biswabhushan Harichandan, Nityananda Pradhan(CPI), Pradipta Panda(CPI-M), Habibullah Khan (Congress) and some other members.

The Speaker, Sarat Kumar Kar, also spoke after which the members observed silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
