Patna, Dec 06: Terming his removal as Director
General of police as 'malafide', D P Ojha today said he would
move the High Court or the Supreme Court to state the
circumstances that forced his ouster from the top state police
post.
''I will file a petition either in the High Court or the
Supreme Court stating the reasons that led to the state
government to remove me from the post of DGP,'' Ojha told a
crowded press conference here.
''Besides taking legal recourse, I will also take the
issue to the people,'' he said after handing over the charge
of DGP to the new incumbent W H Khan.
He, however, denied that he was going to join any political party to continue his campaign against alleged criminal-politician nexus in Bihar.
Ojha said the immediate cause for his removal was a detailed report he had submitted to the government last night giving details of jailed RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin's criminal record including his links with Pakistan's ISI.
He said he was facing pressure from the ruling party leaders ever since he initiated action against Shahabuddin and raised voice against the criminal-politicians nexus in the state.
"I have decided to resign. But because of some technical difficulties, I am not being able to send my resignation letter to the government now. Till that time, I will go on leave and not attend the office,'' he said.
Ojha was to retire on February 29 next year.
