Chandigarh, Jan 31: In a major breakthrough in the Burail Jail escape, the Chandigarh Police on Friday arrested Pakistan-trained terrorist Narain Singh Chaura who allegedly masterminded the jailbreak in which the three accused in the Beant Singh assassination case escaped through a tunnel on the night of January 21. Chaura, former chief of Punjab militant outfit Akal Federation, allegedly facilitated a blackout on the jail premises on the night of escape and arranged a vehicle for the escapees in Mohali to flee to safety, Chandigarh IG Police Rajesh Kumar told a press conference here this evening.
The militant was arrested by the crime branch of Chandigarh Police in Mohali.
