Islamabad, July 19: Claiming his recent visit to India was a "big success", president of the Indo-Pak Chamber of Commerce Ilyas Ahmed Bilour has said the two countries should work towards improving bilateral trade. The Indo-Pak leadership should resolve political differences and exploit the huge USD six billion annual bilateral trade potential, Bilour said. Acknowledging India's progress in engineering, textile, plastic and marble sectors, Bilour said "Pakistani entrepreneurs can purchase very good quality machinery and cars from India at cheaper rates as compare to western countries." He admitted that the balance of trade would be in favour of India but dispelled the impression that Pakistan would be a loser in the bilateral trade. "Direct import of goods from India will cost much less than buying them from other countries," he was quoted as saying by Pakistani daily 'The News' at the Peshawar press club.

Bilour, who led a 100-member business delegation to India this week, claimed his team had 400 meetings with Indian businessmen and signed deals worth USD 200 million.
