London, May 21: The deadline has passed for bids for the newspaper assets of Hollinger International, owners of Britain's Daily Telegraph. Offers for all or some of US-based Hollinger were submitted on Thursday. Bidders interested in buying the Daily Telegraph are thought to include media tycoons David and Frederick Barclay and rival UK newspaper the Daily Mail. Hollinger's newspapers were put up for sale following a bitter dispute between the firm and ousted boss Conrad Black. Bureau Report
