Issue of Med Council test for students to be dealt as per law
New Delhi, Oct 19: Law Minister Arun Jaitley today said the issue of exempting Medical Council of India`s test for students who had acquired medical degrees from CIS nations would be dealt as per the existing provisions of law.

would be dealt as per the existing provisions of law.
"The ministry would give opinion on the issue on the
basis of set parameters of law," he told reporters on the
sidelines of the concluding session of BJP doctor cell two-day
national convention here.
Asked what would be done if the Health Ministry seeks its opinion on exempting the Indian medical students who went to CIS countries before march 15, 2002 from the test conducted by MCI for registration as practising doctors, Jaitley said "the Law Ministry would extend advice within the set paratmers".
Union Health Minister Sushma Swaraj had favoured a test waiver for medicos study in the CIS countries.
