New Delhi, Feb 19: Global communications major Motorola today said it has bagged a 43 million dollar contract by basic operator Tata Teleservices for deployment of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network in Maharashtra, Mumbai and Goa. The deployment is scheduled to be completed by May 2003, a Motorola statement said. We are already well entrenched in South India and recently launched CDMA based services in Delhi," S Ramakrishnan, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices said in the statement here. Stating that the company was now focusing on strengthening its operations in western India to establish presence in CDMA-based wireless local loop services, Ramakrishnan said, "We opted for Motorola as the company has requisite expertise and significant presence in Asia Pacific in CDMA network deployment."
