Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a three-member task force to supervise the special land settlement work in 17 villages of the Jammu district where state forest land has been allegedly occupied by the land Mafia, senior state minister said on Tuesday.
No building permission would be issued by the Jammu municipality in these areas unless the status of the land is determined beyond any doubt, the minister asserted adding 'no objection certificates' shall be issued by any of the revenue authority for obtaining building permission.
The general public is accordingly informed of the steps taken by the government to save them from harassment, he said.
The minister said that the committee has been asked to complete the job within four months.
