Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan celebrates his 51st birthday today, and as he turns a year older we reveal some of his lesser known facts to the world. The 'Kalam' connection


Not many are aware about the fact that Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Amair Khan is related to the great Indian leader Abul Kalam Azad through his grandmother's side.



Young-age debut
Aamir Khan had his focus rightly set on Bollywood even from a tender age of eight. He made his special appearance in a famous song from Nasir Hussain-directed musical outing 'Yaadon Ki Baaraat' in 1973.



School days
Mr Perfectionist attended J.B. Petit School for his pre-primary education, and later moved to St. Anne's High School, Bandra till the eight grade, reportedly. He is said to have completed his ninth and tenth grade at the Bombay Scottish School, Mahim. He even attended Mumbai's famous Narsee Monjee College for higher education.



Sporty Khan
Not just acting, but Mr Khan was quite a champ in sports as well. He played tennis at various state level championships, reportedly.



Stage actor
The actor inside Aamir was ready to take on the world, even before he himself realised it. It has been reported that Aamir joined a theatre group called 'Avantar' where he did the backstage stuff. It was this experience which enriched him as an actor. Aamir even performed at Prithvi Theatre in a Gujarati play called 'Kesar Bina'.
