Chennai, Jan 22: Both Tamil Nadu and Kerala governments should hold bilateral talks soon before finalising plans for construction of a weir across river Bhavani at Mukkali area by kerala government, the CPI-M state unit said here today. 'If Kerala went ahead with the weir construction, farmers in the area in Tamil Nadu will be worst affected', one of the resolutions passed at the state committee meeting of the party held here yesterday, said.
Another resolution urged the election authorities to ensure that the by-election in Sattankulam on feb.26, was held in a free and fair manner. There are reports that atleast ten ministers were now camping there, it added. Bureau Report
