Mumbai, Oct 13: Conceding that his team was totally outplayed by India in the first Test, West Indies captain Carl Hooper on Saturday vowed to bounce back in the remaining two matches the way his side had done in the home series early this year. "We played poorly and the Indians played well," Hooper said after India registered their biggest-ever win over the West Indies, the first by an innings.
"But I am confident of coming back into the series like we did in the home series after losing at Port of Spain," Hooper said referring to his team's 2-1 victory against India after going down 0-1 in the five-Test series at home.
"Now we have to be positive and play well in the next two Tests. We should also tighten up our fielding because the catch of Sehwag which we dropped cost us dearly," he said. Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly was happy with the team's performance "in the past 10-11 months" and hoped that it would continue.
"When we restricted West Indies to 157 (in the first innings, I thought the match would get over today. The wicket had bounce and turn today and our spinners exploited it well," Ganguly said. "All in all I think we played good cricket on all four days." Bureau Report
