New Delhi, Oct 15: Accusing it of being hand-in-glove with the Samajwadi Party, BSP Chief Mayawati today alleged that the "drama" being enacted by VHP in Ayodhya was to help BJP reap political dividend in the coming elections in five states. "BJP allowed the Samajwadi Party to form a government in up keeping in view the vhp programme in Ayodhya. I sense it is pre-planned to create communal tension across the country ahead of the assembly polls," Mayawati told reporters here. Charging the BJP with attempting to create a "Godhra-like" situation in the state, she said that it was wrong to hold programmes like the one planned by VHP as the Ayodhya issue was before the courts.
She asserted that if the Samajwadi Party was not in collusion with the BJP, it should have stopped the VHP activists from reaching Ayodhya.

Mayawati demanded that the up government seal the state borders and conduct searches on trains to prevent VHP activists from going to Ayodhya.
Turning to the incidents at Agra, she alleged that the SP and BJP were attempting to create a divide between Dalits and Muslims to derive political benefits.

Accusing the BJP of ruling by proxy in up, she claimed the Samajwadi Party government was taking action against the victims of the incident and allowing the perpetrators of violence to go scot free. Bureau Report
