Co-star Sonakshi Sinha took to Twitter to inform about the same and said the injury did not deter the "Bombay Velvet" helmer from continuing the shoot.

"Today the villain became a hero on the sets of #Akira! @anuragkashyap72 takes a fall, injures himself and gets right back up to shoot! Hero," Sonakshi tweeted.

"Akira", directed by AR Murugadoss of "Ghajini" and "Holiday" fame, is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film "Mouna Guru".

The film also stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Sadh, Raai Laxmi and Sonakshi's father Shatrughan Sinha.

Kashyap, 42, earlier made special appearances in "Luck by Chance", "Bhoothnath Returns", "Happy New Year" among others.
