Bhopal, Mar 27: More than 250 `jhuggies' (shanties) were gutted when a fire broke out in Vishwakarma Nagar slum colony in Bhopal on Friday night but there were no casualties, fire brigade officials said. Fire tenders sprinkled water from 150 tankers and it took them four hours to put out the fire, they said.

Though the exact cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, preliminary reports indicate illegal electricity connections in the slum colony could have sparked off the blaze which spread rapidly reducing the jhuggies to ashes and destroying all the belongings of the residents, the officials said.
