New Delhi, Aug 09: Supplementary demands for the Railways were passed in the Lok Sabha on Friday without any discussion amid uproarious scenes with an unrelenting Opposition sticking to the demand for resignation of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee over the petrol pump allotment issue, forcing adjournment of the House till Monday.

As the pandemonium continued for the fifth day, Railway Minister Nitish Kumar also moved the relevant appropriation bills, which were adopted by a voice vote.

Earlier, the Rajya Sabha, too, saw unruly scenes with an agitated Opposition demanding resignation of Petroleum Minister Ram Naik forcing adjournment of the House.
Deputy Chairperson Najma Heptulla said "if you don`t want to work then I might adjourn the House for the day."

When the Opposition members refused to relent and continued with their demand for Naik`s resignation, Heptulla adjourned the House for the day.

However, the members observed a minute`s silence in memory of martyrs of the Quit India movement before the House was adjourned.
