Vladivostok, Aug 26: Five people were killed early today when two military helicopters collided in Russia's far eastern region, an official with the emergencies ministry's regional office said. Another person was injured in the crash, which happened at 0822 IST, the official added.
The disaster occurred as one of the Mi-24 choppers tried to land at Chernigovka military airport in the Vladivostok area, airforce spokesman Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky said.
A special commission has been set up to investigate the cause of the crash, Drobyshevsky added. Bureau Report
