Pratapgarh, Feb 01: Unfazed by the criticism from its ally BJP on the offensive launched against jailed independent MLA Raja Bhaiya and his father, the BSP-led Uttar Pradesh government today registered a fresh case against Uday Pratap Singh under the land ceiling act.

During investigations, it was found that Singh possessed landed property more than the ceiling limits, District Magistrate Mohammad Mustafa told reporters here. Singh, currently in jail, was also found to be having 300 bigha of 'benami' property and action was being taken against him by the revenue department officials in this connection, he said.
Meanwhile, the district authorities have sent a proposal to the state government to name after B R Ambedkar the newly sanctioned 'beti talab bird sanctuary' in the 427 acres of pond recovered yesterday from the possession of Raja Bhaiya, Mustafa said.

The work on the Rs 1.50 crore project would start soon, he added.
