Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 25: Left-arm Seamer Zaheer Khan is almost certain to miss the first two matches of the one-day series against West Indies due to a knee injury for which he has been advised a two-week rest.
The seamer might have to skip the rest of the five one- dayers too if an MRI scan does not show satisfactory results, cricket board secretary S Karunakaran Nair said here.
"His injury is not serious and an MRI scan was done on him during the second test. Another scan will be done after two weeks to see if his condition is better. If the result is not satisfactory, he may miss the entire series. But nothing is certain as of now," Nair said. Zaheer Khan, who was impressive in the first two tests, has already been ruled out of the third test in Kolkata and has been replaced by Ajit Agarkar.
