Chandigarh, Aug 28: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today favoured opening of borders between India and Pakistan saying it would boost the trade between the two countries.
"If borders with Pakistan are opened, border districts in Punjab--Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Ferozepur, will witness huge changes economically," he said.
Singh, who reached here after attending the two-day inter-state council meeting in Srinagar, told reporters that the PDP-Congress coalition government there has brought a "big change" in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Kashmir is on a turning point. People there want peace. Normalcy will fast return to Kashmir," he said.
The flow of tourists into Jammu and Kashmir has increased manifold in the past few months, he said.

Referring to the twin-blasts in Mumbai, he said it was an "act of frustration".
