Pakistani charity rejects US charges of supporting al-Qaeda
Islamabad, Oct 15: A Pakistan-based charity today denied any connection to al-Qaeda after the united states designated it a terrorist support organisation and announced it had frozen its assets.

"We have no links or connections with any terrorist
organisation or network in Pakistan, Afghanistan or
elsewhere," Zahid Ahmed, a director of the al Khtar Trust
told a news agency .
Ahmed said his organisation's accounts had been
frozen by Pakistan's central bank in may on allegations of
terrorism connections, and have since been restored after al
Akhtar appealed to the provincial Sindh High Court.
"Our accounts were frozen, but the Sindh High Court has restored them and soon we will be able to operate them again," he said.
