Kathmadu, June 02: Nepal today observed the second death anniversary of late King Birendra, who was killed along with his family members during a Royal Palace dinner party on June 1, 2001. Nepalese people paid tribute to the late king and queen Aishwarya by organizing various programmes.
A programme was organised by Birendra Memorial Academy in Kathmandu on the occasion.
According to Bikram Samvat era the murder of the late King falls today, though the incident occurred on June one.
Speakers on the occasion said that paying true tribute to the late king would be by fulfilling his wish for maintaining peace in the country.
