Kolkata, Jan 02: Trinamool Congress today said that the party would call a 12-hour bandh in West Bengal on February 3 if the Left Front government did not roll back various 'anti-people' taxes including the life-time taxes on two-wheelers.
Announcing the party's decision, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee told a press conference here that her party is not in favour of calling a bandh, but it is forced to take such a decision when the common people are overburdened with a series of taxes.
Banerjee said that her party would launch movements against the state government's decisions from January 5, which would continue till January 20.
''We will watch what the state government will do. If we see that the government fails to withdraw all these taxes, we will go ahead with the February-3 bandh,” the Trinamool Congress supremo said.
