LA, Aug 16: Beyonce Knowles' single "Crazy in Love" featuring Jay-Z holds on to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart again this week, but she's starting to feel the heat of another fast-moving track.
Burning up the chart is "Shake Ya Tailfeather" by Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee, which has bolted into the top five in just nine weeks on the chart.
"Crazy" has held the No. 1 post for seven consecutive weeks. The cut comes from Knowles' debut Columbia album, "Dangerous In Love," which opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and currently rests at No. 3.
"Shake Ya Tailfeather" stems from the current No. 1 album, the Bad Boy/Universal soundtrack to "Bad Boys II." But if the track hopes to eventually unseat "Crazy in Love" on the Hot 100, it will have to get past strong performing songs from 50 Cent and Chingy.
50 Cent's "P.I.M.P." is up one spot to No. 3 this week, while Chingy's "Right Thurr" holds steady at No. 2. On Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tally, which tracks strictly urban markets, "P.I.M.P" is up 3-2 and "Right Thurr" moves 6-5. On the Hot Rap Tracks chart, the cuts are No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
On the other hand, the performance of "Tailfeather" is better in crossover markets than urban. On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, the song has yet to break into the top-10, up this week 13-11. On the Hot Rap Tracks chart, it's up two to No. 5.
But even as these songs are making moves to dethrone "Crazy in Love," Knowles has another title rocketing up the Hot 100. "Baby Boy" featuring Sean Paul is the chart's fastest-growing track at radio and blasts 57-29, reaching the top-30 in just two weeks.
The Hot 100 has a pair of newcomers to the top-10 with tracks from Pharrell and Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. Pharrell's "Frontin"' featuring Jay-Z reaches a new high this week with a 13-7 move. The cut is No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop tally for a second-straight week. Lil Jon and his crew make an 11-8 jump on the Hot 100 with "Get Low," featuring Ying Yang Twins. The position is a new high for the track and gives label TVT its first top-10 Hot 100 single. Over on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, "Get Low" is up 5-3.
The Hot 100's fastest-growing track at retail is Mary J. Blige's "Love at 1st Sight" featuring Method Man. While sales of the retail single increased, radio play decreased, and "Love" is forced to sit tight at No. 34.
R. Kelly's "Step in the Name of Love" is the Hot 100's top debut at No. 68. Other notable entries include Baby Bash's "Suga Suga" featuring Frankie J (No. 71), Gary Allan's "Tough Little Boys" (No. 75), Maroon 5's "Harder to Breath" (No. 76), Rascal Flatts' "I Melt" (No. 79) and Nickelback's "Someday" (No. 81).
On Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks airplay chart, Linkin Park's "Faint" holds the No. 1 spot for a third-straight week, fending off a 4-2 jump from Staind's "So Far Away." The latter is No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks tally for the second week in a row.
Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett's duet "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" is No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks roundup for the third-straight week, maintaining its lead over Kenny Chesney's "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems," which is No. 2 for a second week.
