Kolkata, July 15: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee arrives here tonight amidst tight security after attending the funeral of the former RSS chief Rajendra Singh in Pune. The state DIG of Police (HQ) N C Ghosh, said security had been tightened for the Prime Minister's brief stay in the metropolis during which he would inaugurate the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) tomorrow.

He is also expected to meet delegations of the BJP and the NDA ally, Trinamool Congress, at Raj Bhavan tomorrow afternoon. Security has been made fool-proof at the ITC Sonar Bangla Hotel on the eastern metropolitan bypass, the main venue of the BCCI celebrations, as well as the Hyat Regency Hotel nearby, where the Prime Minister would have his lunch, the police said.

The Chief Minister, Buddhadev Bhattacharjee, would receive Vajpayee along with the state governor, Viren J Shah, and attend the main programme of the BCCI tomorrow, they said. Bureau Report
