New Delhi, Feb 18: The BJP today urged the Muslim
community to accept the reality and take a "positive stand"
on the issue of allowing construction of the Ram Temple at the
"undisputed site" in Ayodhya to strengthen communal harmony in
the country.
"The BJP is of the view that while all parties should
abide by the court verdict on the disputed site, nobody should
have any reservations about removing the legal hurdles to
allow construction of the temple on the undisputed land,"
party general secretary and spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told
a news agency over phone from Chandigarh.
Welcoming the stance taken by several prominent Muslim
leaders supporting the government's efforts to expedite the
judicial process, he said, "It shows that the government's
initiative to build a consensus on the issue is moving towards
success."
"We expect the Muslim community to come forward and
accept the reality and take a positive stand on the issue of
allowing construction of the ram temple at the undisputed site
in Ayodhya to resolve the issue and establish long-lasting
fraternity and communal harmony in the country," Naqvi said.
