Expressing her deep condolences to the bereaved families, Gandhi has requested administrations of the two states to take all necessary steps during the ‘diwali’ festival season to avoid recurrence of such incidents, party spokesman Anand Sharma told reporters.
Twelve people, including a woman, were killed and 18 others suffered burn injuries in a major fire that broke out in a cracker shop in Begumbazar area in Hyderabad in the wee hours today.
Ten people were burnt to death in an explosion in an explosion that triggered a major fire in a cracker unit in a village in Tamil Nadu's Villupuram district close to Pondicherry yesterday.
