Milton Keynes (England), Nov 02: A serious question Mark Hangs over Eddie Irvine's future in Formula One after one of the grid's more colourful drivers was axed yesterday by Jaguar. The famous British Marque, only seventh in the 2002 constructor's championship, issued a statement yesterday signalling the end of their three-year marriage with the flamboyant Ulsterman.

Also heading for the exit is Irvine's teammate Pedro De La Rosa as jaguar look to an injection of fresh talent from two unexpected quarters in their bid to improve results next season. Rather than replacing this duo with drivers with established form jaguar are taking a huge gamble in calling up F1 rookie Antonio Pizzonia of Brazil and Australian Mark Webber, who made his debut for Minardi last year, for 2003.

Irvine, ninth this season with his best placing a third in the Italian Grand Prix, questioned jaguar's tactics in going for raw unexposed talent in the shape of the 22-year-old Brazilian known as 'jungle boy' after being raised in the Amazonian rain forest and Minardi's 26-year-old Webber.
