New Delhi, Nov 27: Government today said in the Lok Sabha that it is aware of ill-treatment meted out to Indian prisoners detained in Pakistan jails and steps have been taken for their early release.
Government has consistently taken up the matter of their early release and repatriation with the authorities in Pakistan, minister of state for external affairs Digvijay Singh said in a written answer.
Gas: New Delhi and Tehran are "firmly committed" to establish a long-term, cost effective and secure mode of transfer of gas from Iran to India and work related to feasibility studies for the proposed gas pipeline project is in progress, he said.
Terrorism: it has been made clear that there can be no resumption of dialogue with Pakistan unless Islamabad stops sponsorship of cross-border terrorism, he said.
China-India: the next round of meeting of India-China dialogue mechanism on counter terrorism would be held in Beijing early next year, he said.



JWG: Joint Working Groups on terrorism have been set up between India and Bangladesh, Canada, EU, France, Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, UK and the US, Singh said.



Gods: Official protest has been conveyed against indecent depiction of Indian gods and goddesses at a shoe exhibition in Germany relating to shoes manufactured in Italy as also against depiction in an advertisement of a woman with four hands in dancing pose taking a shower by a US manufacture of bath fixture, he said.
