New Delhi, Dec 07: Despite ill-health, senior Congress leader K Karunakaran today attended the Congress Working Committee meeting which, however, did not discuss the Kerala party crisis. During his 90-minute long presence in the meeting, the CWC did not discuss the crisis in the Kerala unit of the party in the wake of the demand for the removal of Chief Minister A K Antony.
''The Kerala crisis was not discussed at the meeting till I was present,'' he told reporters at his residence.
Asked if he still stood firm in his demand for the ouster of Antony, Karunakaran asked in his style why should I be wavering?
Though Karunakaran came to the AICC to attend the meeting on time, his health condition did not permit him to be there at the meeting for more than 90 minutes. Karunakaran, who drove from the Escorts heart institute and research centre, where he was undergoing treatment for complications arising out of drug allergy during the past four days, and attended the meting during 1030 hrs to 1200 hrs.
He drove to his residence at 9 Krishna Menon Marg from the AICC office. After a half an hour discussion with his son and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President K Muralidharan, MP, he left for the Escorts.
