Nottingham, June 19: Number one seed Andy Roddick went out in the first round of the ATP grasscourt event here Tuesday just a week before Wimbledon. Former Nottingham champion Jonas Bjorkman showed that United States teenager Roddick still had something to learn with a straight sets 7-5, 7-5 victory.
Roddick, 19, who was made top seed for Nottingham on the basis of his world ranking of 15, found his power game no match for the skills of experienced Swedish campaigner Bjorkman, one of the world`s leading doubles` exponents.

Bjorkman faces world number one Lleyton Hewitt in the first round of Wimbledon, the only one of tennis`s four majors still played on grass. Bureau Report
