Nagaland declared disturbed area for further period
New Delhi, July 23: The whole of Nagaland has been declared as a disturbed area for a further period of one year beginning July 22, 2003.

declared as a disturbed area for a further period of one year
beginning July 22, 2003.
This has been done by the Centre in exercise of the
powers conferred by section four of the armed forces (Assam
and Manipur) Special Powers (amendment) Act,1972, an official
release said today.
The notification says that the whole state is in such a
disturbed or in dangerous condition that the use of armed
forces in aid of civil power is necessary.
