Madrid, Aug 28: Real Madrid beat Real Mallorca 4-2 on aggregate to win the Spanish Super Cup.
David Beckham marked his first appearance for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu stadium with a headed goal that helped his side to a 3-0 victory over Real Mallorca in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday. The win gave Real a 4-2 aggregate victory over the islanders and ensured the reigning league champions their first silverware of the new season. Real Madrid skipper Raul put his side ahead on the stroke of halftime with a simple tap-in after Mallorca keeper Leo Franco had spilled a stinging shot from Zinedine Zidane. Ronaldo added the second eight minutes after the break when he drilled home from 12 metres out.

Beckham, who had been given a huge cheer when he had his first touch of the ball, brought the 55,000 crowd to their feet when he headed home into an open net after latching on to a looping cross from Ronaldo on 73 minutes.

King's Cup winners Mallorca came to life midway through the second half, and new striker Arnold Bruggink and midfielder Ariel Ibagaza were denied goals by fingertip saves from Iker Casillas.
