New Delhi, Dec 10: Continuing its nationwide crackdown on manufacturing and trading units using ISI insignia without valid licence, Bureau of Indian Standards has conducted raids in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana and seized large quantities of sub-standard goods. The raids conducted at various locations in the three states brought to light illegal manufacturing units engaged in production of ISI-marked electric switches and sockets and plywood, a BIS press release said here today.
In Delhi, BIS and the local police raided the premises of one Jwala Industries, a manufacturer of electric switches and sockets under the brand name "Antex", and seized huge quantity of sub-standard ISI-marked material, Anant Dhul, chief vigilance officer, BIS, was quoted as saying.
Raids were also conducted in Himachal Pradesh at the premises of Kaushal Hardware and Bassi Ply Emporium respectively, he said, adding these dealers were found dealing in plywood under the brand name 'Assam Green and Assam Super' with fake ISI mark.
In Haryana, the BIS sleuths raided the premises of one Dalip Singh and Sons and seized large quantities of spurious plywood under the brand name "rock touch". Bureau Report
