Ranbir, who hails from a film family (his great grandfather – Prithviraj Kapoor, his grandfather Raj Kapoor and father Rishi Kapoor) began his acting career with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ in 2007, a film that proved to be a dud at the Box Office.

But his debut film’s BO performance did not harm to him. He bounced back stronger with ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and soon went on to become a huge hit among women.

He started experimenting with different kinds of cinema too early in his career and that proved to be blessings in disguise.

His film- Wake Up Sid – was much appreciated. And then came rom-com ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, a film that gave Hindi Cinema one of its most iconic on screen jodis. Ranbir was paired opposite Katrina Kaif, who is now his ladylove.

Film ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’ helped Ranbir prove his worth yet again! He sported a turban in the film and looked dapper.

RK continued his impressive innings with Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’, Siddharth Anand’s ‘Anjaana Anjaani’.

But Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ and Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi!’ gave Ranbir’s acting career a new direction. These films made him an acting sensation of sorts!

He made his BO cash registers ringing with ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, a film with his former ladylove Deepika Padukone in 2013. But since then, the actor’s films have given sombre performances in terms of business.

‘Besharam’, ‘Roy’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’ turned out to be complete failures at the Box Office. And hence all hopes are on his next –Tamasha – which is slated to release in November.

Here’s hoping Ranbir’s ‘Tamasha’ breaks the jinks and helps him reclaim his position at the Box Office once again.

Happy Birthday Ranbir Kapoor.
