Pratapgarh (UP), Nov 30: Uttar Pradesh police today registered a fresh case of dacoity against Independent MLA Raja Bhaiya, who spearheaded a revolt against the Mayawati government in the state, even as a Sultanpur court issued arrest warrants against the legislator and eight of his supporters in a murder case.
Kunda police registered a case of dacoity and house grabbing against Raja Bhaiya, his father Udai Pratap Singh and seven others on a complaint by one Beni Madhav Vishkarma of Sujauli village who alleged that they had demolished his house on October 27 after forced him to leave it, police said. Meanwhile, a Sultanpur court issued arrest warrants against Raja Bhaiya and eight of his supporters including two legislators, in a case in connection with murder of one Ramanand in Sultanpur on August 24, police sources said today.
Akshay Pratap Singh MLC and Independent MLA Ramnath Saraj are among those against who the arrest warrants had been issued.
Raja Bhaiya is already in jail for allegedly threatening BJP MLA Puran Singh Bundela.
