Patiala, Nov 09: Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh today hinted at a reshuffle among bureaucrats in the coming few days after large-scale transfers of police officers during the week. Talking informally to reporters near here, the Chief Minister said that a reshuffle of IAS and PCS officers posted in the field and at the headquarters could take place.
The government had earlier during the week transferred 177 officers of the rank of senior superintendents of police, superintendents of police and deputy superintendents of police in five lists issued during the absence of DGP A A Siddiqui, who was away attending a conference in New Delhi.
Answering a question on investigation in the illegal human trafficking case involving noted Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi, the Chief Minister referred to the statement of the local SSP who had stated that a regular inquiry would be conducted in the case as was done in any other matter.
