Dalmiya offers to keep out Sehwag: Report
Working on the offers of the International Cricket Council to resolve the standoff, BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya has expressed readiness not to play Virendra Sehwag at the Mohali Test against England on the condition that the harsh punishment given to six Indian cricketers would be reviewed.

According to reports in British media, Dalmiya has offered not to play suspended batsman Virendra Sehwag in the Mohali Test against England from Monday but he wants something in return.
"Dalmiya wants something in return, but what the ICC have offered him so far is not enough," The Telegraph daily said. Dalmiya, who has accepted the ICC invitation for a meeting with its top brass in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, wants an inquiry which in effect would reopen, and possibly reverse the penalties, imposed on the six Indian players "for excessive appealing" during the second test against South Africa recently, the daily said.
It, however, said ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed last night was reluctant to concede that. A report in the Guardian newspaper said Dalmiya also wanted changes in rules to the match referee system and "fairer treatment" of cricketers from the sub-continent. During more than 20 conversations between Speed and ICC president Malcom Gray, Dalmiya has insisted that in return for not playing Sehwag in the Mohali Test, the ICC must make changes to the match referee system including giving players the right to appeal and the formation of a code of conduct for referees.
