Basketball legend Michael Jordan, who turns 39 next month, said he plans to continue his return from retirement next season for the Washington Wizards, declaring "I can still be as dominant".
Jordan has averaged 24.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists a game this season for the Wizards, National Basketball Association division doormats who have risen to respectability on the shoulders of Jordan.
Jordan had said when he returned that he intended to play at least two seasons, but his latest confirmation is the first since he undertook the rigors of an NBA schedule.
"My contract is two years," Jordan said. "The way I feel and with all I have to deal with, all the different problems, it`s a different thought process at the end of the year."
The man who led Chicago to six NBA titles in eight years has not given up on being a supreme player.
"I can still be as dominant in difference ways," Jordan said. "It`s a different challenge for me. I have gotten to a point where I really understand the game of basketball, but also I`m still learning.
"As long as I can continue to do that and challenge myself, there`s always going to be a place for me playing the game of basketball."
