Coimbatore, June 25: Keeping in mind the 2004 Lok Sabha polls, Tamil Nadu BJP president C P Radhakrishnan will commence his 'Ratha Yatra' from Kanyakumari today, whereby he will be highlighting the achievements of the Vajpayee government. During his Ratha Yatra, covering all the 234 assembly constituencies in the state, Radhakrishnan would touch upon issues like 33 per cent reservation for women in legislatures, national river linking project, with special focus on Dalits and downtrodden, party's state treasurer S R Sekhar told.
Another major focus during the Yatra, which is also an awareness campaign, would be on the need for A B Vajpayee's continuation as the Prime Minister after 2004 Lok Sabha election, he said.
Union Ministers of State Pon Radhakrishnan and S Thirunavukarasar would respectively inaugurate and preside over the function at Vivekananda Rock in the evening, Sekhar who is also the in charge of Ratha Yatra, said.
Radhakrishnan, representing Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency, would conclude his Yatra at Vivekananda house in Chennai on Aug 21, Sekhar added. Bureau Report
