Lucknow, Oct 23: The hearing on the petition of former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amar Mani Tripathi, prime accused in poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, challenging the DNA report of the foetus of the slain poetess, has been deferred till today.
Additional Sessions Judge S.K.Awasthi posted the matter for further hearing today after hearing the counsels of the concerned parties yesterday.
Tripathi's lawyers appealed for summonning of the DNA report in the court. The order of the court in this regard is likely today.
Tripathi's bail application, pending in the same court, however could not be taken up today, his lawyer Vijai Vikram told reporters.
Vikram said the court was likely to fix a date for hearing Tripathi's bail plea today.

Tripathi, currently in judicial custody till November three, was arrested by the CBI on September 23 last in connection with the murder of Madhumita Shukla.

The DNA report of Madhumita's foetus allegedly matched with the DNA of Tripathi.
