New Delhi, Jan 22: The World Economic Forum began in Davos on a friendly note for India, showcasing the country to the rest of the world besides bringing the international business world together for fruitful cooperation with New Delhi.
Addressing the special plenary session, Disinvestment and Communications Minister Arun Shourie said "WEF has beamed India to the rest of the world. This partnership also showcased India to the rest of the world and brought the international businessworld together for fruitful coperation with India and helped in creating business partnerships."
WEF president Klaus Schwab said there was a special relationship between India and forum, according to a CII release here.
The relationship was indicative of India's growing relationship with the world and has also made a difference in the way the world looked at India, Schwab added.
Shourie said the forum has worked with India in difficult times and been a catalyst for policy change and bringing an insight on what could be done in the country.



Bajaj Auto chairman and managing director Rahul Bajaj told the session that in the last 14 years of change in India, the forum has helped catalyze the manner of opening of Indian economy.



The forum has also helped changing the mindset of the Indian business to go global, he added.
