Rostov-On-Don (Russia), July 19: A natural-gas explosion ripped through a home in Russia's north Ossetia region today, killing two people and injuring a child, officials said. The early morning blast destroyed the home in the north Ossetia region village of Mikhailovskoye, about 1,500 kms southeast of Moscow, said Igor Mikhailov, a spokesman for the emergency situations ministry in southern Russia Interfax reported. Emergency workers pulled the bodies of an 8-year-old child and woman of about 70 from the rubble, Mikhailov said. A boy, seven or eight years old, was hospitalised with multiple injuries.
Nobody else was in the home at the time of the blast, he said. Most Russians use natural gas for cooking, and explosions are common. Bureau Report
