Hyderabad, Jan 10: BJP's senior office-bearers and general secretaries tonight finalised political and economic resolutions to be adopted at the two-day meeting national executive meeting beginning here tomorrow that is expected to take a formal decision on advancing Lok Sabha elections. "We have finalised three resolutions-- political, economic issues and another on recent SAARC summit-- which will be placed before the national executive for discussion and approval," BJP spokesman Prakash Javdekar told reporters after a three-hour meeting chaired by party president M Venkaiah Naidu.

As the BJP leadership inched towards early polls, which it prefers to be held by March end, the party's general secretaries and senior office-bearers met at hotel viceroy to give finishing touches to the agenda. Earlier in the day, Party General Secretary Pramod Mahajan dropped enough hints that the leadership would take a decision on early polls and outlined NDA's poll issues focussing on leadership, strength of alliances and performance of Vajpayee government in the last five years.

He spoke of the possibility of conducting polls by march end.

"We prefer elections to be held within 45 days of the dissolution of Lok Sabha. If dissolution comes by end of January or the first week of February, elections can be announced by February 15 and the process can be completed by March end," he told a meet-the-press programme.
