Lucknow, Jan 07: Questions have been raised in the BJP over the compromise reached with the dissidents which has provided the much needed relief to the beleagured Mayawati government.
While the BJP may have averted a possible defeat of its coalition government on the floor of the Vidhan Sabha by roping in most of the dissidents, it might not find it easy to concede their chief but unsaid demand of accommodating them in the ministry, party sources here say.
The eight rebels, including their leader Ganga Bhakt Singh who staged a comeback to the party fold during the last couple of days, have reportedly been assured that they would be accommodated in the ministry and also in the state-owned corporations. Though senior BJP leader and urban development minister Lalji Tandon had indicated that there could be another expansion of the cabinet he might find it difficult to accommodate all dissident legislators.

Further, BJP sources say, accommodating all the rebels would send a wrong message to other party legislators, who had remained loyal to the state leadership despite grave provocations during the rebel campaign against party and the government.

Chief Minister Mayawati has made it clear that there would not be any large scale expansion though a couple of BJP aspirants could be given a berth in the cabinet.
The BJP has also to accommodate its MLA from Ayodhya Lallo Singh, who had refused to assume charge as a minister of state though he did not join the ranks of the dissidents.
