London, Mar 25: India's historic 3-2 win over Pakistan in Lahore last night has propelled the team above Pakistan in the international Cricket Council's ODI championship table.
Going into the series, Pakistan was fifth in the table with a rating of 107, while India was seventh on 105. The narrow series win is just enough to lift above it arch-rivals into fifth position with a new rating of 107, according to an ICC statement here.

Pakistan's rating has fallen to 106, putting it sixth, narrowly ahead of England when the ratings are recalculated to three decimal places.

This will be the first time that India has finished the calender month ahead of Pakistan in the ICC ODI championship table since October 2003.
Only three points celebrate the sides ranked between third and seventh in the official table. England and Sri Lanka are next two of sides to have an opportunity to pull away from the pack with away series against West Indies and Zimbabwe, respectively.

Following is the table:
1. Australia 135 points
2. South Africa 113 points
3. Sri Lanka 109 points
4. New Zealand 109 points
5. India 107 points
6. Pakistan 106 points
