Wolverhampton, Feb 08: Arsenal beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 to stay top of English premier league Arsenal beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 to set a club record 24-game unbeaten start to the season and remain two points clear at the top of the English premier league on Saturday (February 7). Dennis Bergkamp opened the scoring for Arsenal in the ninth minute at Molineux, Ashley Cole crossing in to the Dutch international who shot past Wolverhampton goalkeeper Paul Jones. Thierry Henry came close to adding another for Arsenal four minutes later but Jones parried away the Frenchman's shot. Wolverhampton equalised in the 26th minute, Romanian striker Viorel Ganea scoring his first league goal for Wolves. Arsenal took command in the second half with goals by Thierry Henry and Kolo Toure, both created by Robert Pires.


Henry scored his 99th premiership goal to give Arsenal a 2-1 lead in the 58th minute, and four minutes later Toure headed in to seal the victory for Arsenal.


Arsenal top the table on 58 points with Manchester United second on 56. Chelsea, who host Charlton Athletic on Sunday, are third on 49.
