Dharamsala, Oct 15: Two hand-written leaflets denouncing Tibetan spiritual and temporal head Dalai Lama and his followers have appeared on the notice board at Mc Leodganj, the seat of Tibetan government-in-exile near Dharamsala, triggering tension in the area where a sizeable number of Tibetans have settled, police sources said today. The leaflets, appeared on the notice board yesterday, was written in distorted English with a number of spelling mistakes, used derogatory language against Tibetan leaders and held out a threat that "Dalai Lama will be assassinated if Tibetans do not leave India", they said.

Senior police officers who visited McLeodganj today felt that it could be the handiwork of Tibetan followers of Shugden cult who had been highly critical of Dalai Lama in the past and had killed a staunch Dalai Lama loyalist and the director of Buddhists dialects at McLeodganj four years ago. All the five accused in the murder case later fled to Tibet. Bureau Report
